MTD/1 for fermentation
MTD/1 is the only high-performance L. plantarum strain tested on a wide range of forages under different ensiling conditions. It is the bacterial strain that has undergone the most experimentation and testing of any other silage inoculum. MTD/1 dominates initial fermentation, producing faster and more effi cient fermentation with the following benefits:
- Optimizes utilization of available sugars
- Reduces protein degradation

- Minimizes unwanted microbial activity.
PJB/1 for aerobic stability
PJB/1 is a unique strain of L. buchneri isolated from Volac and tested on a wide range of forages to evaluate its effectiveness in inhibiting the activity of yeasts and molds responsible for aerobic spoilage of silages, providing the following benefits:
- Reduced heating
- Reduced SS losses
- Lower losses
- Increased energy intake of forage
- Reduced risk of presence of mycotoxins
The characteristics of Volac Ecosyl Ecocool
ECOCOOL is suitable for the treatment of forages with a high risk of aerobic spoilage, such as grass silages with high S.S. content, and whole-plant cereal or corn silages.
One product provides two specifi cally selected bacterial strains: Lactobacillus plantarum strain MTD/1 for rapid and effi cient fermentation, and Lactobacillus buchneri strain PJB/1 for reduced heating and aerobic spoilage.
- Available in liquid form application only
- One bottle treats 100 T of forage
- Versatility of application:
- Any type of applicator – standard or ULV
- Distribute from 20 ml/t (1 bottle in 2 liters) to 2 l/t (1 bottle in 200 liters)
- Once mixed in water, the product should be used within 48 hours
- Expiration (sealed package): 12 months in a cool, dry place
